Misalnya, sampel titanium dioksida yang dimodifikasi menunjukkan D50 = 0,3 \u03bcm (memenuhi standar) menurut analisis laser, namun mikroskop elektron pemindaian (SEM) mengungkapkan sejumlah besar aglomerat lunak yang berkisar antara 0,5\u20131 \u03bcm.
