Pirofilit termasuk dalam sistem monoklinik, dan struktur kristalnya berupa agregat lamelar dan radial. Karakteristik dan tampilan pirofilit sangat mirip dengan talk, dan banyak sifat fisiknya juga sangat mirip. Pirofilit memiliki tekstur halus, kekerasan rendah, refraktori lebih dari 1.700\u00b0C, insulasi dan isolasi termal yang baik, serta sifat kimia yang stabil. Agregat ini umumnya terbentuk dari mineral-mineral serupa. Bijihnya sebagian besar berbentuk balok, tetapi juga berbentuk tanah dan berserat. Mineral-mineral utama yang terkait adalah kuarsa, kaolinit, diaspora, serisit, pirit, dll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tidak ada perbedaan yang tegas antara pirofilit dan talk dalam perdagangan. Hal ini karena keduanya memiliki tampilan, sifat, struktur kristal, dan area aplikasi yang kurang lebih sama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dari segi komposisi kimia, pirofilit sangat mirip dengan mineral kaolinit, keduanya merupakan silikat aluminium terhidrasi. Bahan ini meningkatkan kerapatan, tingkat keputihan, dan kehalusan kertas, meningkatkan kinerja pencetakan, dan mengurangi biaya produksi, menjadikannya bahan pengisi yang ideal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industri Keramik<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pirofilit mengandung Al2O3 yang tinggi, memiliki ketahanan panas yang baik, tingkat keputihan yang tinggi, dan penyusutan yang rendah pada suhu tinggi. Pirofilit merupakan bahan baku yang ideal untuk pembuatan keramik. Seperti batu Shoushan, batu Qingtian, batu darah ayam, batu beku, dll. Kerajinan tangan yang dihasilkan antara lain pembakar dupa, alat pengasapan, manik-manik Buddha, segel, patung batu, vas, batu hias, dll. Warnanya cerah, kilaunya memukau, tanpa retakan, kekuatan tinggi, kekerasan sedang, transparansi baik, dan sedikit kotoran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industri Fiberglass<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam produksi serat kaca, pirofilit digunakan sebagai bahan baku utama, dengan kandungan Al2O3 yang ideal, yaitu 18%~22%, yang merupakan pirofilit aluminium medium. Kandungan Al2O3 yang terlalu tinggi atau terlalu rendah akan berdampak besar pada proses produksi.
